Melinda Gebbie was a fine artist who got in to comics when Lee Mars invited her to contribute to Wimmen’s Comix in the 1970s.

Sydney Padua has the distinction of having got in to webcomics by accident. Her day job is as an animator and story artist working mostly in visual effects in London.
